Sumol Compal Strengthens Support for Communities with Special Christmas Actions

RESEXT

The year 2024 was marked by the strengthening of our external social responsibility and our commitment to the communities where we operate, mainly through the Sumol Compal Donation Program, which seeks to contribute to the well-being of local entities and our partners.

To close the year:

  • We supported the feeding of the 3,000 volunteers who made another national food collection campaign by the Food Bank possible;
  • We partnered with the Confraria Gastronómica de Almeirim to hold the first Solidarity Stone Soup event, which took place in 7 national cities (Algarve, Évora, Amadora, Almeirim, Coimbra, Estarreja, Valadares) with the aim of offering a meal to beneficiaries of humanitarian associations, IPSS, and/or other solidarity entities with economic needs. The 1st edition reached about 3,500 people;
  • A special Christmas action, with the aim of helping to fulfill the mission of two local associations: Casa do Gil and the Association of Parents and Educators for Childhood (APEPI). In addition to donating our products for the preparation of 100 baskets that will be distributed to vulnerable families across the country and for the Christmas parties of these institutions, we combined the generosity of our people by offering a Christmas gift to 28 children who were removed from their families due to being in a situation of social and/or clinical risk.
  • We supported the 36th Christmas Party of the Community Vida e Paz, through the donation of products, cups, and a group of volunteers who donated their personal time to support the 2,000 people in situations of great economic and social vulnerability.
  • And we also supported solidarity initiatives of our partners through the participation of our people in the solidarity dinner of the Ronald McDonald Children's Foundation, which took place at the Palácio da Bolsa in Porto, and the purchase of 10 solidarity baskets from Pingo Doce, which aim to support elderly people in vulnerable situations;

We thank everyone for their contribution and involvement. We were able to make a difference in the lives of many families and children; it was a true demonstration of our solidarity spirit and Sumol Compal's commitment to positively impacting the communities where we operate.
