International Day of Awareness of Food Loss and Waste

Framed within our 2030 Sustainability Agenda, we recently launched the External Social Responsibility Policy, which aims to increase value creation and economic and social progress in the areas where we operate.

Aligned with our purpose and the strategy of our brands, we have defined Nutrition, Hydration, and Well-being as one of Sumol Compal’s areas of intervention in local communities.

The Donations Program, which in 2023 benefited around 400 institutions in Portugal with more than 260,000 euros worth of donated products, allows us to give a new life to products approaching their expiration date but still meeting quality and safety standards. With this initiative, we contribute to the well-being of communities through partnerships with various associations and by providing access to our brands’ food products to local social organizations. In this way, we reduce our food waste while simultaneously promoting the quality of life for more vulnerable people in the communities where we operate.
