Sumol Compal was one of the four companies selected by BCSD Portugal to present its experience in calculating the carbon footprint during the session “Carbon Footprint – Scope 3” within the theme “Climate and Energy”.
This invitation reflects the recognition of the continuous work we have been doing to reduce the environmental impact throughout our value chain, a strategy aligned with our Sustainability and Decarbonization commitments.
During this session, we highlighted our approach to measuring indirect carbon emissions associated with our value chain, from raw material production to the final consumption of our products. We shared the applied methodology, the challenges faced, the main achievements, and essential learnings for the following years of measurement. This case study allowed us to show our focus on contributing to a low-carbon economy and to share relevant insights with other companies, promoting collective learning on a complex and relevant topic for all of us.
We believe that the work developed in this area is essential to promote positive transformation. We embrace uncertainties, scale our practices, and act in collaboration, with a view to continuously improving our processes. We believe that a small gesture makes a difference, and we do it for ourselves, for everyone, and for sustainability.
👉 We thank BCSD Portugal for this opportunity and for providing us with a space for sharing and collaboration on fundamental topics for the sustainability of our planet.
