Sumol Compal, in partnership with 2BForest, joins the Better Forest Program, an initiative that promotes good forest management in Portugal, creating forests that are more resilient, biodiverse, and sustainable.

This program combines technical and scientific knowledge to:
✔ Restore natural habitats;
✔ Improve water and soil quality;
✔ Conserve biodiversity;
✔ Promote a more balanced and resilient forest mosaic.

📍 Where? At the Serra da Estrela Demonstration Field, a strategic area of over 450 hectares dedicated to protecting watercourses and restoring ecosystems affected by wildfires.
This forest area is part of the national network of demonstration fields, promoting knowledge exchange and capacity building for landowners, technicians, and the community.
 

Different forest restoration techniques have already been implemented, such as:
🌳 Planting native species (Pyrenean Oak, Chestnut, Birch, Scots Pine);
🔥 Controlling spontaneous vegetation;
💧 Protecting watercourses and reducing erosion risks.
 

This reinforces our commitment to integrated forest management, capable of generating environmental, social, and economic benefits for the region.
